Graciano is a grape that loosely translated means grace in Spanish. It is the yin to Tempranillo’s tannic yang and is used throughout the Rioja region in Spain to blend with Tempranillo along with Garnacha and Carignane. There are some Rioja wines that are made with 100% Graciano, though they are quite rare.
This wine has vibrant purple color with aromas of cherry, rose petals and herbs de Provence. This medium bodied is silky on the palate with bright with lively acidity.
I like to serve this wine with a little chill on it, like they do in Europe with lighter bodied wines. It will complement a variety of grilled meat, poultry, grilled fish as well as a refreshing complement to spicy dishes.
