The Pinot Noir grapes were harvested early in beautiful condition. It was a hot vintage but with the vineyard’s close proximity to the ocean and excellent farming practices we managed to harvest high quality fruit.
The grapes were 44% whole cluster fermented in open top fermenters that were punched down twice a day. After fermentation the wine was aged in one-third new, one-third one-year old and one-third two-year old Francoise Fréres barrels for 18 months.
This Pinot has a savory flavor profile with tart cherries and notes of tea, spice and Autumn leaves. It has good balance, elegance and lasting flavors on the finish.
